Guardians of the Wild

ZAMBI Wildlife Retreat is a one-of-a-kind sanctuary in Australia, created solely with the wellbeing of its animal residents in mind. Many of these animals have come from challenging pasts, but here, they’re given a second chance at peace and care.

This photo essay offers an intimate glimpse behind the scenes—into the bond between humans and animals, and the tireless devotion of the staff and volunteers who make ZAMBI a place of refuge and healing.
